One of the most fun parts of prepping for your shoot is choosing what to wear! Here are a few tips to make sure your outfits match the magical theme:

Color Palette: Soft, neutral colors like blush, cream, pastel pinks, or earthy tones work beautifully for a maternity session. These colors create a timeless, serene atmosphere in your photos.
Flowy Dresses: For a dreamy, ethereal look, we recommend wearing long, flowing gowns that gently hug your baby bump. Fabrics like chiffon or lace will create that soft, goddess-like aesthetic we adore.
Mini-Me Moment: If you’d like, you can dress your daughter in a similar style or color as you to create a visual bond. She can wear a cute, flowy dress or something playful that makes her feel magical, too—perhaps with a flower crown or fairy wings (I provide these props)!

Tip: Bring a couple of outfit options! We can switch things up during the shoot to give you a variety of looks in your final photos.

2. Pamper Yourself Ahead of the Shoot

Your maternity session is a celebration of your journey into motherhood, and it’s a perfect time to treat yourself! Here are some ways to prepare:

Hair: Consider getting your hair styled for the shoot—loose, flowing waves or a romantic updo can create that soft, magical vibe.
Makeup: Light, natural makeup enhances your features while keeping the focus on you. You don’t need anything too heavy—think glowing skin, soft blush, and neutral tones.
Manicure/Pedicure: Since your hands might be photographed resting on your baby bump or holding your daughter’s hand, a fresh manicure in soft tones will add a lovely, polished detail.

Pro tip: Be sure to drink lots of water and get a good night’s rest before your shoot. This will help you feel refreshed and glowing on camera!

3. Bring Personal Props for Added Meaning

To make your session extra special and unique to your story, you’re welcome to bring along any meaningful items you’d like to include in the photos:

Heirlooms or Keepsakes: If you have a family heirloom, a baby blanket, or something meaningful you want to pass down to your new baby, bring it along. These small details help tell your family’s story and add an emotional layer to your images.
Props for a Magical Feel: I will provide props like flower crowns, rose petals, or fairy lights to add whimsy to the shoot, but feel free to bring anything that makes you feel extra magical! Whether it’s a special necklace, a book you read to your daughter, or your favorite flower, these elements can elevate your experience.

4. Plan Ahead for Your Daughter’s Comfort

We want your daughter to have fun and feel like the little fairy princess she is! A few tips to help her feel comfortable and excited:

Snacks & Water: Bring along some light snacks and water to keep her energized and happy throughout the shoot.
Favorite Toy or Comfort Item: If she has a favorite toy or stuffed animal, consider bringing it along. It might even make a cameo in the photos!
Encouragement: Let her know how special this day is and how much fun she’ll have playing dress-up and spending time with you. We’ll make sure she feels included and celebrated in every moment.
